Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask from Lush

I have been experimenting with different masks lately and I found a really good one at Lush. It is called the Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask.

Brazened Honey
I have always enjoyed My beauty diary masks but never noticed a huge difference in my skin. However, my skin was noticeably brighter after 1 use and my skin tone looked more even.

Pros: It's affordable at $7 since you could get 6 - 8 uses out of it. It's natural and didn't irritate my skin. I SAW A DIFFERENCE immediately and a few days after.

Cons: It has to be kept in the fridge. It only lasts 3 weeks from the day they make it.

I highly recommend this product and I'll be trying their other masks in the future.

Oh... my... dog!

I was introduced to this fun little place in the SE called Oh My Dog and they sell, you guessed it! Hot dogs.. and poutine... and apparently their milkshakes are amazing! But all I had was this pulled pork dog (see under the dog?) and coleslaw and it was Sooo good. It's down in Midnapore mall. So if you guys have a chance! Check it out!

Briggs Kitchen and Bar

I went to Briggs for lunch last week and it was quite delicious. I ordered flat bread, tater tots (can't remember the real name), and lobster ravioli. My fav was definitely the lobster ravioli and I would definitely go back next time for more.

Yummmmmy! This beautiful being that ended happily in my stomach is called Beef Oxtail Ragu and it was the daily special at a restaurant by my sister's place in Vancouver. The restaurant is called Les Faux Bourgeois and it is tasty! And it was great because all the servers were cute french men. (They may have seemed cuter because the only conversations I had that week was with dogs) So next time you go to Van, try this place! Corner of 15th ave and Fraser.

Facial Cleansing Wipes

I just finished my last facial cleansing wipe so I headed to Shoppers to try out another brand. These 2 were both for sale and each had it's own selling point, since I use them quite a bit now, I decided to try both. I have probably tried 4 or 5 brands and have not found one that I really love yet.

The Live Clean one was $7.49 for 30 wipes (approx 25 cents per wipe) which is a little more than I care for. I do like the packing and I think it'll keep the wipes moist longer. I used one today and so far so good.

The Balea one was $5.99 for 48 wipes (approx 12 cents each). It also comes in a box, so again, I hope it keeps the wipes moist longer. I hope this one will work out well and not disappoint since it is inexpensive compared to the other brands.

Let me know if you guys have any good recommendations.

Big Shampoo

I really enjoy this Big shampoo From Lush. I bought it because I was looking for a volumizing shampoo and this was a recommendation by a YouTuber (in fact a lot of the things I buy now are recommended by YouTubers). It keeps my hair clean for days and it actually is quite volumizing. I bought it on boxing day last year and I still have about half of the products left (I bought the 325g one).

The conditioner is nothing special, I wouldn't buy it again.

Do you guys have any recommendations for a good volumizing shampoo and conditioner?

DietBet

Recently, I started following a YouTuber named Blogilates who posts work out videos and healthy cooking tips. She posted a video today about DietBet that I wanted to share with you guys.

The basic idea of it is that it is a rewards program for losing weight. Starting from Sept 3, you have 28 days to lose 4% of your weight (for most of us, it is around 1.5 pounds per week). You have to pay $25 at the beginning of this program, and if you successfully lose 4% of your weight, you get to share the pot with everyone else who successfully passes as well. To put some actually figures in your head, the pot grew to $149,700 the last time Blogilates did this DietBet challenge.

I definitely don't think money should be the main motivator in this challenge. It seems like it is a fun thing that you could do with your friends and all get together to aim for one common goal. How many times have we said we wanted to lose weight without actually doing anything about it? I think earning the money at the end is just a nice bonus on top of reaching your goal.

To help with the challenge, Blogilates will post a calendar with daily exercises we can do. I believe she will also post meal plans (not sure about this though).

Sweatember DietBet

Let me know ASAP if you're interested in joining. The more people we have, the more motivated we'll be to stay on track. Even if you don't want to pay $25, we could still encourage each other during this "Sweatember".

Alison, here is the YouTube video that I was telling you about. It is about a man with OCD and his love for a woman. I cried after watching this, it was so beautiful in a sad way.

Mmm Korean in Calgary

Yum!!!! This is from San Dong restaurant on 37th St SW. I love this place because spicy is actually spicy!!! I forgot to take a pic of the one I usually get (#2 half seafood spicy soup half black bean noodle with pork) This was rice with fried vegetable beef noodle and it comes with the spicy seafood soup all at a joyous price of  10$ something. You also always get pickled radish (I think) with black bean sauce. Go there!!
